Heavy Lift for Light Load

After delivering its heaviest ever load last year, the 59,500 ton Thunderhorse production platform for BP , Dockwise Shipping has now transported its lightest load ever. The company's headquarters at Breda in the Netherlands mobilised the dock ship Enterprise to transport a Zeppelin NT airship weighing only 700 kilos from Amsterdam to South Africa.

The Enterprise leaves Amsterdam sailing for Kaapstad in South Africa with Dockwise lightest ever load.

The contract for diamond mining company De Beers provided a challenging job for Dockwise, not because of its weight but because of its enormous vulnerability. Sea transport for a zeppelin had long been considered impossible.

The heavy transport vessel Enterprise , with a length of 160m and a beam of 29m, delivered the 75m long Zeppelin, which has diameter of 19.5m, to South Africa in August.
