Abu Dhabi Dredging Tender

Aldar Properties in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has invited a total of eight dredging contractors to tender for the dredging and reclamation contract at Abu Dhabi's forthcoming Al Raha beach development.
The companies are Archirodon, Boskalis Westminster, China Harbour Engineering, Dredging International, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, Jan de Nul, National Marine Dredging Corporation and Van Oord.
A contract award was expected by end of September, 2005. The contract requires dredging from a 'borrow area' of suitable sand offshore and the creation of a new land area of some 450 hectares along an 8km shoreline.
