USCG Approval for Sealite LED
01 Feb 2006
The Sealite SL125-2 LED marine lantern has received US Coast Guard Approval for Class 'A' structures. Incorporating 2 tiers of 36 LEDs (72 in total), the SL125-2 provides a luminous range of up to five nautical miles, with each LED tier utilising Sealite's patented omni-directional LED Reflector to increase the intensity and uniformity of the horizontal output.
The SL125 is equipped with a large number of additional features including flash-memory, IP68 waterproof rating, and optional remote monitoring and control capabilities allowing the performance of the units to be monitored from remote sites.
The SL125 model can also be synchronised via internal GPS or hardwire.
Chris Procter, sales director for Australia based Sealite said, 'The US Coast Guard approval of the SL125-2 model is great news for our customers in the Gulf of Mexico. Those with Class 'A' structures can now benefit from the low-maintenance & higher reliability of LED technology.'
The United States Coast Guard approval has capped of a big year for Sealite, who in September had their products included under a US Government General Services Administration contract, allowing federal employees to place direct purchase orders up to the value of $75,000.
