    UK Consultation Paper on Dredging Regulations

    The Department for Communities and Local Government in the UK has issued a Consultation Paper on Draft Marine Minerals Dredging Regulations and Procedural Guidance. The document is aimed at the marine dredging industry, organisations who advise on dredging proposals, environmental groups and those who comment on individual dredging applications. 

    New Quay Completed at Rye

    Construction of the Rye Fish Market Quay, situated on the western bank of the tidal River Rother near Rye, is now complete. Commissioned by the Environment Agency, designed by Atkins and constructed by Jackson Civil Engineering, the £4.7m project is one of only 11 registered fish landing sites in England and Wales. 

    BMT SeaTech Studies Re-Design of Portsmouth Harbour Channel

    BMT SeaTech Ltd, a subsidiary of BMT Ltd, has recently completed a comprehensive study for Defence Estates South West. Forming part of the Portsmouth Harbour Regeneration Project, the study looks at the re-design of the deep water channel for Portsmouth Harbour in the light of its use by large future warships for the Royal Navy. 

    Dutch Consortium Wins Sohar Phase 3

    A consortium of Interbeton, Six Construct, and Van Oord has been awarded the 195m contract for the construction of quay walls and dredging (Phase 3) at Sohar Port in Oman. The client is the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Government of Oman.
