'Napoleon' Invades Southampton for Seawork

Marine diesel engine and boat equipment supplier and Seawork exhibitor Vetus Den Ouden of Schiedam in the Netherlands has added a new model electric anchor windlass to its range.

'Napoleon' is suitable for boats from 8m to 14m in length, has a nominal lifting power of 350kg and a maximum lifting power of 950kg.

However, Napoleon's main feature is that the housing, cover and drum are all made from high gloss polished cast stainless steel.

Most types of anchor windlass have their on-deck parts made of anodised aluminium, which in the course of time can discolour and stain. The Napoleon anchor windlass is chiefly made of type AISI 316 stainless steel. The high gloss polished housing, cover and drum will give this winch a sturdy yet attractive appearance even after years of extensive use.

Dual relays are integrated into the motor housing, where they will remain free from corrosion and a chain counter sensor is also built in as standard.

Two new LCD control panels compliment the Napoleon windlass and will, among other things, display the length of chain released in either feet or metres. Napoleon is available in 12 and 24V versions.
