    Merwede Shipyard Booked Into 2008

    IHC Holland Merwede's Merwede Shipyard at Hardinxveld-Giessendam has followed up an earlier letter of intent with a contract to design and build a new pipe laying/offshore construction vessel for global marine engineering contractors Subsea 7.

    Diversified Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has signed an agreement with BMT Nigel Gee and Associates Ltd to develop and market advanced high speed ships based on BMT's patented Pentamaran designs and advanced catamaran hull forms. 

    Low-Cost, Long-Life Workboat

    Based at Inverness in Scotland, Caley Marina has been importing a range of durable, maintenance free Pioneer boats into the UK for 17 years. Built in Norway by Polimoon AS, the polyethylene material of which they are made contains a UV stabiliser that will not degrade in sunlight. In these environmentally sensitive times, a boat that will last much longer than its more conventional competitors and is 100% recyclable scores high in both the through life cost and social responsibility categories. 

    Futura Delayed Again as Orders Mount

    The delivery of RMS Kiel, the prototype of a new generation of German Futura inland cargo ships has been delayed again as orders for the innovative semi-catamaran type increase to four.
