IMCA Updates Multibeam Guidelines

The Offshore Survey Division of the International Marine Contractors Association has revised its guidelines on The Use of Multibeam Echosounders for Offshore Survey (IMCA S 003 Rev.1).
Formulae for sounding density both along and across track, it says, have been the subject of some debate since first publication, as they could be interpreted in two different ways, with resulting density being over-optimistic. The formulae have therefore been adjusted accordingly.
