Acciona Transmediterranea services routes between the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla as well as other international routes to Morroco, Algeria and France.

The ship servicing the Portsmouth - Bilbao route will be the 2001 built 172m superferry MV Fortuny, providing opportunities for both freight and passenger customers.

The vessel has a capacity for up to 1,000 passengers and 330 vehicles.

In line with the company's policy for development and sustainability, the vessel has recently been fitted with new advanced propellers which reduce both fuel consumption and air pollution.

Two sailings per week are scheduled between 18 May and 29 June, with an additional weekly sailing added during the high summer season.
