Hydrographic Survey by David Goodfellow

Offshore Survey 07

The National Oceanography Centre at Southampton is to host a two day specialist offshore surveying conference addressing European market issues, on 27 and 28 March.  Its joint organisers, Intelligent Exhibitions and TMS International, say that speakers will be drawn from leading international oil and gas organisations as well as global contractors and service providers along with government and academic institutions.

Over 20 technical papers are expected to be presented following a keynote address by John Westwood of Douglas Westwood Ltd, who will discuss and examine factors and influences affecting the future of offshore surveying.

Scheduled individual topics include E-Field Developments, Personnel Shortages & Training, Quality & Movement of Seawater at Offshore Development Sites, Project Reports and New Technologies. Proceedings will conclude with an open forum discussion.

The event is being held as a concurrent part of Ocean Business 2007 at the NOS, a new biennial conference promising a hands-on technology exhibition, 200 workshops and training seminars, and a series of on-water demonstrations.  Main sponsors are the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) and the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies.

Further details on both events are available at www.intelligentexhibitions.com.
