Ship of the Year
01 Oct 2006
Bourbon Orca, the first ship to be built to the backwards sloping X-Bow design, won the Norwegian Ship of the Year award at SMM in Hamburg last month.
The 4.000gt anchor handling tug supply vessel, designed and built by Norway's Ulstein, was praised for a 'remarkable capability in heavy seas' which allows it to operate at higher cruising speeds whilst using less fuel and also providing better working and safety conditions for the crew.
