The vessels deployed on the service are MV Passaden (374teu) and MV Georg Mitchell (301teu).

Martin Dale, Kursiu Linija commercial director said, 'This change is the first of a series of schedule enhancements which will see us giving our industrial and retail clients both faster and more frequent transportation on a wider network of routes. This will be achieved whilst maintaining the reliability and security which has been the bedrock of our expansion.'

Lithuania based Kursiu Linija is a key short sea door to door carrier linking Eastern and Western Europe. It currently operates three separate services. The ports that Kursiu Linija calls at are Klaipeda in Lithuania, Liepaja in Latvia, Gdansk in Poland, Immingham in the UK, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Hamburg and Bremerhaven in Germany and Ahus in Sweden.

Kursiu Linija operates six vessels with capacities of 300 to 650 TEU and owns approximately 1,500 high cube pallet wide 45ft containers, dry containers, refrigerated containers and curtainside containers.

Kursiu Linija will transport some 220,000 TEU in 2006. The company handles transportation for Masterfoods, Procter & Gamble, Gillette and IKEA as well as for other leading companies.
