The mutual accord, signed by IFHS chairman Paul Hornsby and IHO president Vice-Admiral Alexandros Maratos during the Federation’s recent international hydrographic symposium in Antwerp, covers general sharing of information on matters affecting key scientific, technical and professional issues in addition to identifying opportunities for increased participation in events of common interest.

Headquartered in Plymouth UK, the IFHS presently comprises member organisations in Australasia, Benelux, Denmark, Germany, South Africa and the UK, with the UK society also maintaining a sizeable overseas representation drawn from other non-member countries.
