Coastal and Ports Surveying Seminar

The UK Civil Hydrographic Programme’s results for 2006 and plans for this year under the auspices of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency is the lead topic for a one day seminar on Thursday 14 June at the Port of Southampton’s Canary Islands Fruit Terminal.

To be held as part of the three day Seawork International 2007 Conference & Exhibition, running from 12-14 June, it is jointly supported by The UK Hydrographic Society, The Society for Underwater Technology and the UK Harbour Masters Association.

William Heaps, Hydrographic Manager of ABP, will open proceedings which will be of specific interest to hydrographic professionals, port and harbour authorities, and civil engineers.

Main technical topics include Statutory Survey Requirements & International Standards, Impact of Dredging & Development on Marine Archaeological Resources, Multibeam Surveys, New Technologies for Shallow Water Surveying, Cost Effective Surveying & Dredging, and AUV & Mini-ROV Applications. Speakers include leading representatives of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency, Institution of Civil Engineers, Wessex Archaeology, NetSurvey, UK Dredging, the Port of London Authority, Advanced Systems GeoAcoustics, Autonomous Surface Vehicles, and Atlantas Marine.

The registration fee for THSUK, SUT and UKHMA members is £195, covering workbook proceedings, coffee breaks and lunch. The non-member rate is £240.
