SEA Group Sales Success
01 May 2007
SEA Group, which employs over 200 staff at sites in the UK’s West Country, has sold three of its 234 kHz Swathplus interferometric sonar systems to the Chinese Maritime Safety Administration and the Shanghai Water Supplies Bureau while in Europe, a further two configurations have been delivered to Electricite de France (EDF) for surveying hydro-electric dams on lakes and rivers.
Meanwhile, the company has extended its range of systems with the introduction of a high frequency 468 kHz version offering increased swath performance and resolution in shallow waters to complement current deeper water 117 kHz and 234 kHz models.
Hardware and software advances include improvements to sidescan data and processing with simpler operator interfaces as well as those for a full range of hydrographic processing applications.
Other refinements include improved timing and synchronisation with external systems and the addition of USB and Ethernet, enabling all frequency variants of systems to be readily deployed from surface or AUV platforms.
