Hydrographic Survey by David Goodfellow

Gardline Expands

Gardline Geosciences, a subsidiary of the Great Yarmouth based Gardline Marine Sciences Group, has extended its marine geotechnical activities with the acquisition of Lankelma Andrews (formerly Andrews Survey) as part of a declared ambition to establish itself as a key player in the worldwide marine geotechnical market.

Trading as Gardline Lankelma, the new company will specialise in providing integrated survey solutions using Gardline Group’s existing fleet of survey vessels and associated craft.

It also plans to operate its own dedicated geotechnical vessel in the near future.

Drawing on experience gained in Australia, the Far East, North Sea, Sakhalin and West Africa aboard both Gardline and third party vessels, Gardline Lankelma says it will offer worldwide geotechnics, in-house consultancy and services ranging from near shore to full ocean depth down to 3,000m. It will be based in Great Yarmouth as well as Iden, in Sussex.

Meanwhile, parent organisation Gardline Marine Sciences, which maintains a fleet of nine dedicated hydrographic vessels and claims to be the world’s largest independently owned survey group, has established a regional operations and marketing centre in Perth, Western Australia to further develop operations in Australia and South East Asia. The new office will complement other regional ones in Houston and Singapore.
