Gulf Maritime has quickly established itself as the premier event for commercial, leisure, government and military marine activity in the Middle East.

Backed by and extensive and targeted visitor promotional campaign in Middle East and North Africa region, the show brings exhibitors and visitors face to face government authorities and other decision makers, ship owners, shipyards, marine service providers, engineers and many other professionals from the marine industries.

Gulf Maritime 2007 is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. It is jointly organised by Expo Centre Sharjah and Baird Publications of Australia. Maritime Journal is the Official Media Partner of the event.

Gulf Maritime 2006 attracted 2,708 marine industries trade visitors from 45 countries, half of whom were from Gulf states. Most exhibitors expressed satisfaction with the results of participation. Many received secure orders or serious enquiries during the event itself and most others came away with strong possibilities to pursue after the show.

A series of one hour product presentation seminars will be held alongside the event, which exhibitors can use as a marketing tool. This exercise can be taken one step further as exhibitors can also display their vessels at the marina outside the exhibition centre.

The 2007 edition of the Gulf Maritime exhibition will showcase deck machinery and other vessel equipment, docking equipment, electronics, communication and navigation systems, engine and propulsion systems, fuel and lubricants, ride control systems, sound and vibration control systems, marine interiors, paints and coatings, latest vessel building designs and technology, equipment for fishing, offshore support vessels, cargo ships, tankers, tugs, ferries and patrol boats, ship repair, port operations products and cargo handling services.

Among the major companies that have already confirmed participation at the coming edition of the show are Rolls Royce, Stromme, MTU, Cummins, Kobelt, Saab Rosemount, Reintjes, Hamriya Free Zone, Sharjah Ports Authority, ZF Marine, Westfalia, Wartsila, IHC Holland, UTS, Asry, Berg Propulsion, Kobelt, Thrustmaster, and Kongsberg

Gulf Maritime 2007 also includes a series of focussed forums arranged by external conference organisers such as industry associations.

The temporary marina, again established at the rear of the Expo Centre, provides berths for vessels up to 30m LOA and with a draft of up to 3m. There is also a static display of boats and other equipment by the entrance to the main hall.
