The full year operating profit for Finnish
marine engine manufacturer Wartsila soared by 29.2% during 2006 to reach
€261.6m.
With continuing high demand for marine engines, Wartsila forecasts net sales to grow by 15% this year, improving the profit margin to 9% from 8.2% last year. The company’s overall order book jumped to €4.62bn in 2006 from €3.49bn the year before, with the ship power division seeing a spectacular 46.9% increase in new orders.
