Marine Corrosion On the Run at Seawork
01 Mar 2007
Based at Biggin Hill Airport in Kent UK, Corrosion Block is part of the Adams Aviation Supply Company, which has been supporting the aviation industry since 1968.
Offering the widest range of aircraft parts directly distributed by a European company, Adams Aviation is continuously expanding its portfolio and, with Corrosion Block, is now growing its business into the maritime sector.
Making its first appearance at Seawork 2007, Corrosion Block is an anti-corrosion compound developed exclusively to stop existing corrosion and prevent new. It is unique in that it was designed for use in electrics and electronics as well as metals and structures. A water displacement product, Corrosion Block has a 12 to 18 month active life, efficiently penetrating without loosening structural attachments. It is also an excellent lubricant but without the wax, silicon or Teflon additives which sea moisture in and make corrosion worse.
With regular applications, Corrosion Block will make boats, engines and components look better and easier to clean whilst preventing surface, structural and electrical corrosion related failures, thus making a significant reduction in replacement, repair and labour expenses.
Corrosion Block is sprayed into structures, joints, welds, engines, gearboxes, generators, switch panels or any other obscure areas on board, working to prevent corrosion and structural degeneration. Where corrosion is already present, it will help inhibit further progress by insulating and electrically ‘switching off’ the corrosion cell. It will also penetrate around bolts, screws and hardware, protecting them from electrolytic corrosion and preventing seizure. It will protect electrical joints, plugs and components such as PCBs and electronics, computerised ignition and fuel control units and their multi-pin plugs.
The Corrosion Block team will be found on Stand S40 at Seawork 2007
