Marine Radar at 60
18 Feb 2008
Another major milestone in the history of Kelvin Hughes Ltd. was achieved recently when the company celebrated the sixtieth anniversary of the installation of its first marine radar.
The original radar installation date of July 1947 was only two years after the end of World War 2, during which numerous major advances in radar technology took place. The latest radar development, SharpEye, will replace the expensive magnetron, which requires high voltages and regular maintenance.
