Preffered Found 2007 an Uplifting Year

Preffered Marine Cranes celebrated a successful year in 2007 and managed to draw successful contracts even in what they term as a somewhat erratic market. The company was able to supply a range of knuckleboom and stiff boom cranes from their Italian (Effer) and German (Global Davits) suppliers.

The cranes supplied include the smallest Effer knuckle-boom crane, the 2.6 t/m to Ferguson Shipbuilders for a small work boat application, a 10 t/m to Seawind Barclay Curle for the Waterways Ireland, and models at 25 t/m and 65 t/m to Williams Shipping for their new and existing workboat fleet.

Oceanteam Power and Umbilical 2 were supplied with the new 275 t/m units for a cable handling application and one European Navy was supplied with a 44 t/m unit for a fleet support vessel.

Other sales included an 80 t/m crane to Subsea 7 and a 125 t/m model to Gareloch Marine Services. Also, several of the Global Davit stiff boom cranes have been supplied recently for handling ship gangways at a major UK refinery.

The company reports that the level of crane enquiries received remains constant. They are currently working at increasing their input to the UK and Irish markets and will be returning to Seawork as an exhibitor in June of this year.
