Outboard Power for Olympics RIBs

Two 21' Sea Rover boats fitted with Suzuki 70hp four stroke outboards have been supplied to Newham Council in East London by International Marine Services (IMS). The boats, used for tours of the Olympic Park before construction started, are now in use at the Watersports Centre at Surrey Docks.

One of the boats has all weather protection, and the other has been specifically designed for passengers with disabilities. Capable of taking up to six wheelchairs, a unique drop down ramp allows for wheelchair access from a footpath or pontoon. It also means that casualties can be floated directly from the water into the boat, creating an excellent safety support craft. Optional control modifications allow wheelchair users to drive the boat.

The boats have also been used as support craft during the London Triathlon and during the Motor Show at Excel.
Dave Bakin from IMS said, 'The Sea Rovers can carry up to 12 adults or 15 children and have been designed for everyone, from civil construction and environmental services users to commercial divers, hire firms or fish farms.'
