  • Clean Design Engine Production Skyrockets

The vessels are scheduled to be built in Japan at Mitsubishi’s Nagasaki yard, with the delivery dates due in 2011 and 2012.

  • Waterjets Wanted for Windfarm Workboats

Ultra Dynamics, manufacturer of the UltraJet range, report that waterjets are currently the first choice of propulsion for wind farm workboats due to the enhanced manoeuvrability they provide and the ability to hold station while work is being carried out: the latter being a key requirement when servicing offshore wind farms especially in very rough sea conditions.

  • Sightseeing Power on the Cape d'Agde

Two new 12m purpose built sightseeing boats operated by Les Coches D'eau on the Cape d'Agde, a few kilometres from Montpelier in the south of France, have each been fitted with a pair of Perkins Sabre M92B engines.

Following reliability problems with their ageing inboard diesel jet driven RIB, Ryde Inshore Rescue service on the Isle of Wight UK decided to invest in a new boat and engine package.

  • EPA Announces Final Marine Engine Rule

In America, the Engine Manufacturers Association (EMA) responded to the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announcement last month that the agency has finalised new emission standards for marine engines and locomotives by indicating that engine manufacturers are ready to tackle the challenges ahead.

  • Quad Power for Fast Crew Supplier
