Rotterdam Breaks Records

Rotterdam became the first European port to break the 10m TEU barrier last year, following a performance which saw container handling volume rocket by 12% over the 2006 figures.
The increase, which took box volume to 10.8m TEU, saw more containers handled at the port than crude oil for the first time ever. Some 105 tons of boxes passed through the port as total cargo figures rose by 6.4% to reach 406m tons.
