REDS dive into New Year with renewables

Rugby UK based Reach Engineering & Diving Services (REDS) has started off the New Year as they finished 2007, winning a contract for a diving project on N-Power's Rhyl Flats Wind Farm, off the North Wales coast.

The project continues the company's growth into the renewable energy market after its involvement at the DongEnergy / Centrica Barrow Offshore Wind Farm (BOWF) last year.

REDS has been subcontracted by PMR (Peter Madsen Rederi), the Danish marine construction specialists, to provide diving support during the foundation installation works being carried out by MT Hojgaards.

As at the BOWF project last year, REDS is providing a turnkey solution for the diving element of the project, delivering project management, personnel and diving systems. REDS is also supplying suitable floating plant and an on board decompression chamber.

REDS anticipates continuing growth in the renewable energy sector,  concentrating on servicing the needs of a growing market and meeting client expectations.

REDS' growing list of contacts within the sector can be attributed to its ongoing support of the British Wind Energy Association, having recently exhibited at the BWEA Marine and Health & Safety Exhibitions. REDS has already confirmed participation at the BWEA Offshore and BWEA 30 events later this year. REDS has also joined forces with a number of trade bodies concentrating in the wind energy sector, including Wind Supply and Renewables East.
