Seawork2002 Update

'Maid of the Harbour' is Halmatic's seawork Flagship

Portchester UK-based Halmatic Limited have always had a significant presence at seawork and the 2002 Exhibition will be no exception.

Topping all previous displays, Halmatic plans to bring no fewer than four boats to seawork2002.

Topping the list in terms of size will be Maid of the Harbour, a 23.5m passenger vessel for Brownsea Island Ferries which marked the start of Halmatic's expansion into the building of steel hulled craft when it was commissioned last summer.

When not welcoming guests aboard as part of seawork's floating exhibition, the vessel will play host to a variety of events and meetings. Among those already scheduled are lunches for the Association of Diving Contractors, the UK Harbour Masters' Association, and the MoD Boat Availability Working Group.

Returning to the floating exhibition will be the RTK Marine Combat Support Boat which impressed so many at seawork2001 with its unusual combination of raw power and precision manoeuvrability.

A commercial derivative of this vessel, the RTK Marine 9m Logistic Support Boat, will be on Halmatic's stand inside the seawork exhibition hall.

It will be one of three that have been ordered by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

Rounding off Halmatic's seawork flotilla will be the new 'optimised' 2002 version of the Nelson 35 pilot boat, in which a number of enhancements such as a resiliently mounted wheelhouse are incorporated as standard.
