Crystal Ball on Coastal Futures Rolls Into London
01 Dec 2002
Coastal Futures 2003 will focus on the British Government's Marine Stewardship Initiative and in particular on the practical implications for managing our seas for multiple use.
This year has seen an unprecedented number of major international and European conferences and policy initiatives which will shape the sustainable development and protection of the marine and coastal environment for the next decade and beyond.
Coastal Futures 2003 will examine the implications of these developments through presentations by key participants in their formulation.
Subjects to be covered are how the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive will effect plans and programmes in the marine and coastal sector, The Port of London Authority's view on managing the environmental agenda, the development of offshore wind energy, and spatial planning in the marine and coastal environment.
Coastal Futures 2003 will be held in the comfortable Brunei Gallery Lecture Theatre at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies. The conference fee is a modest £135.
