High-speed Rescue Craft from Fusion Marine

Scottish based Fusion Marine Ltd has developed a high speed deck-mounted rescue craft suitable for ferries, offshore support vessels and other craft. The Polycraft FRC1 is manufactured entirely from polyethylene and features a deep V-shaped hull which provides stability in rough sea conditions without compromising handling.

The vessel, which can be powered by a variety of engines, is produced in sizes ranging from 6.75m length and above and can be adapted to meet specific customer requirements.

It can carry up to 11 people and is suitable for most ship-borne rescue situations. The Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), which operates a variety of boats, has recently purchased its first Fusion Marine Polycraft, a smaller (4m) FRC4. SARA's Upton Station chairman David Walker is pleased with the new boat.

'It is the most practicable, durable and versatile boat that we have ever used, he said. "It can handle all sorts of situations and offers superb stability, even in rough conditions. Our crews have tremendous faith in the FRC4.'
