Valeport Tide Gauges for Navy
01 Feb 2002
Dartmouth-based Valeport has received an order from the Royal Navy for 23 of its Series 740 portable tide gauge/water level recorders which will be used in support of hydrographic survey activities worldwide.
The Series 740 has a vented underwater pressure transducer connected by cable to a batterypowered surface logger. It reads water height at user-set intervals and stores up to three years of data with a single set of batteries.
Weighing just 1.7kg with batteries, units can be calibrated on site and also feature a radio communications option for real-time logging of data.
