Redbus Makes Spanish Splash
01 Jan 2002
A Divecat version of the Redbus 520 workboat has been sold by Redbus Workboats to the Diving Marbella scuba diving company based in the popular tourist destination in Southern Spain.
Diving Marbella specialises in taking customers with no previous diving experience out to sea for half-day trials and needed a boat which would provide maximum comfort and stability for inexperienced divers. Specially designed inward peripheral seating for 10 people allows divers to see and talk to each other and facilitates the teaching and demonstration process for instructors. Measuring 5.2m long with a 3.5m beam, the Redbus 520 Divecat provides more than 13m2 of useable deck.
It can be launched in water just 30cm deep and has a bow ladder which greatly simplifies the exit and boarding process for new divers. The Diving Marbella boat features a V12 rack for gas bottles and is powered by a Mercury 150 Optimax engine.
The Redbus 520 Workboat was originally designed as a diving boat but variant applications include structural maintenance, pollution and environmental control, fire boat, harbour taxi, and for emergency and flood relief duties.
