SASMEX Goes Dutch
01 Jan 2002
The Safety at Sea and Marine Electronic Conference and Exhibition (SASMEX) moves to the port city of Amsterdam for the first time this year, taking place at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA Centre) on 16-18th April.
Launched in 1984, SASMEX is the only event dedicated entirely to marine safety. The move to Amsterdam reflects the need to expand the event to a modern venue with a maritime flavour and facilities suitable for live demonstrations.
Centrepiece of the three day conference will be a first day debate on the issues of responsibility and control of safety in shipping.
Days two and three will examine specific safety issues for shipping:
navigation, communication, firefighting and prevention, lifesaving and rescue.
