    Compact Azipods for Offshore Vessel

    A christening ceremony before Christmas saw Aker Yards, Soviknes Verft AS in Norway deliver the advanced multipurpose offshore vessel M/S Normand Rover to Norwegian operators Solstad Offshore. The Normand Rover is the first offshore vessel to be equipped with the Compact Azipod propulsion systems from ABB Oy Marine and Turbocharging. 

    Common-Rail Sulzers Orders Up

    The first Sulzer RT-flex low speed marine diesel featuring common-rail fuel injection completed its sea trials late last year in the self-unloading bulk carrier Gypsum Centennial.

    Deutz Power for New Coastal Freighter

    Six cylinder engines from the ubiquitous Deutz 628 series have been chosen as the main drive for a new type of ship, the Crescent Rhine river carrier, a coastal freighter which was built at the Bodewes Scheepswerf Volharding Foxhol BV in Waterhuizen, Germany.
