ISO 9001-2000 for ASRY Yard

Bahrain's ASRY Yard crowned a successful final quarter of 2001 by becoming the first shipyard in the world to be awarded the prestigious ISO 9001-2000 Certificate from the Norwegian society Det Norsk Veritas. The Certificate is in recognition of the Quality Management System in place at the Yard.

Engine Replaced on the Move

An engine replacement operation on a Norwegian car and passenger ferry, which involved cutting holes in the ship's hull to install the new engine, has been completed between two of the vessel's scheduled runs.

Agreement Announced

A&P Group have announced an agreement between A&P Shipcare at Chatham UK and Metalock Engineering (UK) Ltd, proposing an inter-company co-operation venture. The agreement formalises a working relationship of many years standing. Matalock regularly carries out work at all A&P locations and, like A&P, are ISO 9002 accredited.
