01 Jan 2002
Redbay Boats Ltd of Northern Ireland added an 11m Cruising RIB to their range last month, with a specification based around a pilot style boat given RIB handling and speed characteristics. The Stormforce RIB features luxury fitments including suspension seats, a fully enclosed wheelhouse and two forward berths.
The 11.1m overall length vessel has a 3.3m beam and is fitted with 22" diameter tubes, heavy duty fendering and tread master on the decks. Dual 470 litre fuel tanks feed the twin Yanmar 300hp engines, which feature dry exhausts and are coupled to Bravo 3X legs. The boat cruises at 35 knots and has a top speed of 41 knots. The main cabin is lit by a fibre-optic internal system and floodlights are fitted to provide maximum light to the deck. Self parking wipers ensure maximum vision at all times while a heater/ demister system runs off the engines, along with a cold air system and twin bilge pumps. Seaglaze manufactured the aluminium windows and door. Simrad supplied all the navigational equipment, which includes a 14" colour screen, CP50 chart plotter, RA14C radar, IS15 dual instrument heads, RT1400 DSC VHF radio, RT1200 auxiliary VHF and Nav 6 Navtex.
