Targa Top Choice for Southampton Patrol

Wessex Marine, the Poole based distributor of Finnish built Ta rga boats for the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands, commissioned a new Targa 25 for ABP Southampton shortly before Christmas.
As with most commercial placements of Targa boats, ABP Southampton's new craft will take on a variety of roles, including day to day patrol work, the enforcement of local byelaws and policing of public events, and a standby role as hydrographic survey vessel.
With regards to the last role, Wessex Marine modified the craft by moulding a box into the hull of the boat into which transducers can be securely fastened. A special pull-out table for hydro survey equipment was also built into the wheelhouse.
Power is supplied by a commercially rated 200hp Volvo AD41DP turbocharged diesel.
The compact Botnia Marin built craft features a quiet, heated, year-round pilothouse, safe 'walk-around' decks, two cockpits and an additional outside wheel position.
