Methane is being recognised as one of the most important gases in our environment. Directly or indirectly, it touches all areas of our day to day lives. The new METS sensor will greatly assist the continuous measurement of methane in research and monitoring programmes. Applications for the sensor exist within the offshore oil and gas, oceanographic research, methane hydrate extraction and water and waste treatment markets.

METS is a compact, lightweight and adaptable sensor. It measures 200mm in length, weighs 1.5kg in air and can currently be supplied for use in surface through to 3500mm water depths. The standard measuring range is 50nmol/1 to 10micromol/l but other ranges are available on request. Data outputs are available as RS485, RS232, 0 to 5V and 4 to 20mA signals.
