Buoyant Sales Reported for Knudsen Echosounders
01 Jul 2002
Dutch company Nautikaris, which featured the Knudsen range of echosounders on Atlantas Marine's stand at seawork, reports increased sales of the 320M series of single and dual frequency systems recently extended with the introduction of a splash-proof version, the 320M/P.
With seven settings for high-resolution paper speeds, programmable logging and relay of data to PC's, systems have a depth capability of 2,000m and are ideal for precision surveys and pre and post-dredging operations, says Nautikaris managing director, Rob Karis.
Compatible with all leading GPS receivers and TSS and Seatex heave compensators among other sensors, all system settings are retained in a non-volatile memory and can thus be recalled on start-up.
Remote operation is also possible via an integral SCSI interface and optional Windows-type software while field-upgradeable software is available to users intent on maintaining state-ofthe-art operation.
Rob Karis reports sales of more than eighty 320 Series systems which, depending on transducer requirements, are available for US$20,000-$24,000.
Quoted users to date include ABP Grimsby and Southampton, Boskalis, Westminster Dredging and on the academic front, the universities of Athens and Hawaii in addition to leading research concerns in Holland.
