Down the Hatch with Vetus

Recognising that lower height deck hatches constitute less of an obstacle on deck, Dutch equipment supplier Vetus Den Ouden has introduced a range of hatches called Genius which feature complete aluminium frameworks for both the lower part and the lid while maintaining an overall height of no more than 26mm.
The "glass" in the lid is in fact 12mm thick acrylic and is available in smoke or green.
Genius deck hatches are available in sizes 45 by 32cm, 40 by 40cm, 45 by 45cm, and 50 by 50cm, with the rounded corners having a radius of 42mm. There is only one continuously adjustable support, centrally positioned in the lower frame, which occupies very little space and allows allows the lid to be opened to about 180º. With the opening of the hatch virtually free of obstacles, storage below deck is made simple.
