These applications typically operate at full power up to 8% of the time and accumulate as many as 300 hours per year. The engine is suitable for planing hull applications, leisure craft, and rescue and emergency craft.

The electronic engine control provides excellent fuel economy and throttle response as well as protection via self-diagnosis. The seawater aftercooling ensures more power with denser air charge, lower emissions and lower exhaust temperature. The electronic rotary injection pump is simple and cost effective to maintain and repair.

Barrus will also be showing the full range of Mariner outboards, 2-stroke, 4-stroke and OptiMax. A representative range of petrol and diesel sterndrives and inboards from Yanmar, MerCruiser and John Deere will be shown by the Marine Diesel Division while the Special Products Division will be demonstrating the amazing Fast PIRS (Post Immersion Restart System). Outboard engines fitted with Fast PIRS can be restarted after complete submersion within 15 seconds, a capability designed to satisy the needs of commercial operators and rescue organisations.

Also on display will be Seatek engines extending up to 1,200hp and in service with British and overseas militaries.

Barrus engined boats will also be on display at seawork's floating exhibition. Humber boats will be fitted with a Yanmar 6CP-STZP 315 hp engine and a MerCruiser 1.7DTi. A 6.8m Ribcraft will be fitted with two Mariner 115XLPT 4-stroke outboards converted to run solely on LPG.
