Stabilised Antenna Systems Extend to Smaller Vessels

Aberdeen UK-based DMS, a subsidiary of Schlumberger Network Solutions, has launched the latest addition to the SpaceTrack 4000 portfolio of VSAT stabilised communication antenna, which facilitates VSAT communications for all maritime vessels regardless of their size.

The latest antenna affords Ku band communications where space restrictions on board had previously prevented such technologies, enabling smaller vessels to extend land-based facilities to become a fully mobile office at sea.

The 1.2m SpaceTrack stabilised antenna addresses the requirement for low capacity connectivity using VSAT technology from moving small to medium sized inshore vessels. This antenna size will allow such vessels to communicate directly via voice and data to their operations bases onshore with improved connectivity on a 24/7 basis at an economical price point.

The advanced technology and diminished footprint allow the system to be reliably deployed on commercial fishing boats, ferries, supply vessels, tugs and barges.

SpaceTrack 4000 stabilisation units are comprised of mechanical, electronic and interface assemblies fitted with Appropriate RF unit (transceiver) antenna and Radome, and accommodate customer-specified combinations.
