Portchester UK-based Halmatic has secured a contract to build 20 Halmatic Cougar Enforcer 33 Ultra Fast Patrol Boats for the Royal Oman Police Coastguard.
The Halmatic Cougar Enforcer 33 UFPBs will be used for coastal patroil and interception duties along Omans coastline.

The contract is the first major overseas success for the Halmatic Cougar Alliance, which was launched last summer at seawork2001 to design, market and manufacture the Cougar range of UFPBs.

Cougar Marine is founded and owned by the Curtis family, Clive and Steve, with Steve Curtis three times the Class 1 Offshore Powerboat World Champion.

The new patrol boats are based on the successful Cougar 33 raceboat deep 'V' hull form. The 10.88m loa craft are powered by twin Yanmar 6LY2-STE six cylinder turbo-charged and intercooled marine diesels delivering 420hp at 3,300rpm intermittent and driving Hamilton HJ274 waterjets. This particular version will achieve speeds in excess of 45 knots but other vessels in the Enforcer range are capable of speeds to 70 knots.
