Recognising that 'a picture can be worth a thousand words', Hampshire UK-based lifejacket manufacturer Crewsaver has introduced a safety initiative in which an interactive CD demonstrates how to maintain, re-arm and re-pack after use their entire range of air only lifejackets.
It also details the various inflation options available as well as tips on how to ensure lifejackets perform well in the water.
From January of this year, all Crewsaver air only lifejackets will include the CD as part of the package. Combinations of video/ audio clips and click-through pages enable users to follow step by step instructions on all the necessary procedures relevant to their specific model of Crewsaver lifejacket.
The CD is in addition to the printed manual which comes with each product. However, Crewsaver believes that being able to see exactly how to re-arm an automatic lifejacket, or fit thigh straps, is easier and more effective than reading about it.
