Hydrographic Survey by David Goodfellow

New Software Maintains Hydrographic Source Data

Canadian software specialist Caris has begun distribution of its new Hydrographic Production Database (HPD) with first users including Germany's Maritime & Hydrographic Agency, the Peruvian Department of Hydrography & Navigation, and the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration in the US.

HPD is designed for maintaining hydrographic source data and managing multiple types of products such as ENC's, digital and paper charts, Notices to Mariners and various textual documentation.

According to the company, it integrates source and products into one system while allowing multiple users to access and update database objects and products simultaneously, thus providing 'long-sought efficiencies as well as savings in time and money.'
