    Interbeton, part of the Hollandsche Beton Groep (HBG) based in the Netherlands, - has been awarded a contract for the construction of a quay wall in Durban, South Africa. 

    New Chairman at BMAPA

    The British Marine Aggregate Producers Association (BMAPA), which represents eight companies involved in the extraction of sand and gravel from the sea-bed around the UK, has announced its new Chairman. 

    Lydney Docks to be Refurbished

    The Environment Agency (EA) in the UK says it hopes to obtain Heritage Lottery funding to help with the refurbishment of the historic Lydney Docks and surrounding harbour on the Severn estuary in the UK. 

    Maureen Platform Will be Re-used - as a Quayside

    An offshore platform in the North Sea that was recently decommissioned, refloated and removed by Aker Maritime on behalf of offshore operator Phillips Petroleum is to be re-used - as the basis of a new quay at Aker Stord's facility in Norway. 

    River Frontage Reclaimed on the Tyne

    Edmund Nuttall in the UK reports that construction is underway in Gateshead to provide a reclaimed river frontage for a new housing development overlooking the River Tyne at Dunston.

    British specialist marine contracting firm Land & Water, who are based at Alburym, near Guildford, has formed two new divisions, for specialist projects and remediation work. 

    Israeli Firm Completes New Quay

    Oceana Marine, part of the Oceana Group in Israel, has completed a major marine construction and dredging project on behalf of the Eilat-Ashkelon Oil Pipeline Company Ltd, and is midway through the construction of a new quay at Haifa port on behalf of Israel Port Authority.
