Irish Harbour Masters See Navaids Funding Boost

Ireland's ports and harbours have seen major developments and increased operations funding over recent years, resulting in an increase for the supply of new aids to navigation.

VTMS Ltd and their engineering support company, VTMS Remote Ltd, were invited by Ireland's harbour masters to give a presentation of their engineering services and navaids at the recent Irish Harbour Masters Annual Meeting.

VTMS Ltd was formed specifically to support port and harbour authorities with aids to navigation and was the first such company invited to attend the Annual Meeting.

This year's conference was hosted by New Ross Harbour Master Capt. Luke Foley. New Ross, in Co Wexford, is Ireland's only inland port, being located some 32 km from the sea on the River Barrow. The Port specialises in handling both dry and liquid bulk as well as supporting lo-lo and ro-ro operations.
