Harbour Masters to Meet in SA

The 3rd Congress of the International Harbour Masters' Association will take place in Cape Town, South Africa on 13-17 May. Registration for the Congress takes place between 15:30 and 17:00 on Sunday 12 May at the venue, which is the Holiday Inn Cape Town.

A professional tour of the Port of CapeTown takes place on the afternoon session of Wednesday 15 May, followed by a free social evening. A Sponsored Theme Dinner takes place on the Tuesday evening and the traditional Congress Dinner will take place on Thursday evening.

Friday 17th May sees the Ordinary General Meeting of the IHMA from 08:30 to 13:00 followed by the Joint IHMA/ EHMA (European Harbour Masters' Association) Council Meeting (new Council) from 14:00 to 17:00.

The six sessions of the Congress Programme will focus on Port Safety Management Systems, Port Services, Commercial and Recreational Activity in Ports, General Presentations, New Ship Design: Impact on Port Safety, and Not in my Port: Provision of a Safe Haven.
