Tysons Roped Into seawork2002 Safety at seawork2002
01 Mar 2002
Tysons (Ship Riggers) Limited of Grimsby will bring their recently launched range of eight plait mooring ropes to seawork2002.
The rope is being marketed under Tyson's own trade mark 'Gold Strand'. Tyson's realised that to supply a new rope into an already well served market they would have to boost the specification. Gold Strand Rope is therefore slightly heavier and has a higher break load than comparable ropes currently in use.
The rope is manufactured from high tenacity polysteel yarns which offer easy handling, excellent strength and anti-abrasion resistance.
Tysons have already been successful supplying towage, ferry and dredger operators.
Ropes are currently available in 40 to 120 mm diameters.
The company was incorporated in 1982, initially to service the local fishing fleet, but now supplies and services all sectors of the marine industry with wire rope, fibre rope and chain.
Tysons have also moved into the lifting gear sector, manufacturing and testing all types of slings.
The 'Gold Strand' trademark was established by Tysons to provide quality assurance for customers. This now covers wire rope, three and eight strand fibre rope and some combination wire ropes used in the fishing industry.
