MP Spotlights Anti-Glare Success

Solar Solve, the South Shields UK-based manufacturer of anti-glare roller screens for navigation and control room windows, has been so successful in penetrating foreign markets that its Member of Parliament, David Milliband, came to see the company at work.

Almost 90% of Solar Solve's turnover is exported, particularly to Korea, where the screens are installed on 70% of all vessels built. These include the launch and delivery last month of the largest double hull tankers ever built, the 442,000dwt Hellespont Alhambra and Hellespont Metropolis.

Solar Solve chose the occasion of Mr Milliband's visit to announce a string of recent orders including two from new sources in Norway. One of these will involving equipping a new vessel for the Royal Norwegian Navy.
