New IHO Officials Elected

Rear Admiral Alexandros Maratos, Director of the Greek Navy's Hydrographic Services, has been elected President of the International Hydrographic Organization's Bureau Directing Committee which will oversee the Monaco-based inter-governmental body's work for the next five years.
Other Directors elected during the course of the IHO's 16th five-yearly conference last month are Rear Admiral Kenneth Barbor, USN, at present Director of the University of Southern Mississippi Hydrographic Research Center, and Captain Hugo Gorziglia, International Advisor to the Chilean Navy Hydrographic & Oceanographic Service.
The new committee will assume office at the beginning of this September, presiding over the IHO's worldwide activities on behalf of 69 member states.
