Some 26 delegates attended the course in Gothenburg, including representatives from Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Greece, Germany, Malaysia, Norway, Thailand, The Netherlands, Turkey, Sweden, the UK and the USA.

There were more applicants than places available.

The popularity reflects the Club's unique status as an 'all in one' insurer and its ability to share experience in the P&I, Hull & Machinery, and FD&D sectors. In addition, delegates met and shared experience with colleagues working in different sectors of the industry and from other countries and backgrounds, providing a valuable informal networking opportunity.

The Marine Insurance Course consists of a combination of presentations and interactive workshops providing a comprehensive introduction to marine insurance. The Club's senior managers and claims executives lecture on a variety of Hull & Machinery and P&I topics, including collisions, cargo liability, pollution and loss prevention. The overall aim is to provide knowledge that is tailored to delegate's needs and designed for direct transfer to the workplace.

The final day of the course is dedicated to a series of interactive workshops on collision, pollution, personal injury, general average and salvage, cargo liability and underwriting.
