Suzuki Supplies Power for New MCA Pollution RIB

A new Sea Rover workboat powered by twin Suzuki 50hp EFI 4-stroke outboards has entered service with the Counter Pollution Branch of the UK's Maritime & Coastguard Agency.
The MCA Sea Rover is 6.4m in length and is being deployed on general support in pollution control situation such as the installation of booms in an oil spill and in the Agency's training programmes.
These are conducted with the assistance of MCA contractors Williams Shipping of Southampton and attended by managers and staff from the Emergency Services, Local Authorities and other Government Organisations responsible for pollution control.
The craft has a number of special features including slip resistant aluminium cladding to sections of the tubes, permanent fuel tanks bonded into the aft section of the hull and an on board hoist. It is fully equipped for offshore operations with rafts, navigational equipment and lights.
The Suzuki DF50 4-stroke is a lightweight 815cc, 12 valve, dohc motor with electronic fuel injection, delivering performance across the powerband with economy, low vibration and low noise.
The engine meets future EPA 2006 and CARB 2008 standards.
